Part 2 of my first turning lesson on the Precision Mathews PM1127V metal lathe! As I become more familiar with all the controls of the lathe, I become more confident and self assured.
Learning simple operations such as facing, drilling, and turning a piece of steel down to a specific diameter has been an enlightening experience. I can appreciate the differences between wood turning and metal turning.

Materials used: 1″ round, hot rolled steel and 3/4″ acme threaded rod.
Parts held by a Phase II, 6 jaw chuck. The tool being used is a Micro100 3/8″ carbide tool holder.
